A Look At Music Videos

The song "Like You'll Never See Me Again" is a song by Alicia Keys; one of the most popular soul and R&B artists to this day. It was released in November 2007 and reached number twelve on the Billboard Hot 100. . 


Initial Reaction: When i first viewed this music video, it made me feel very emotional. The music and images they were showing caught my attention and made me really want to listen to the story. The people who created this music video wanted to tell a story and reach out to the audience so that they could feel the emotions that the artist is expressing. 


Analysis and Interpretation: This video shows a variety of emotional clips that come together to tell a story. The creators of this music video really wanted the audience to listen and relate to the message they are trying to portray. This music video is very emotional because it shows a woman going through a hard time, and she almost loses the person that she loves. The creators of this music video also added timed events that weren't in order so that the audience could put the story together themselves. This makes the audience pay more attention to what is going on so that they fully understand and get the full grasp of what they are trying to tell you. The main theme and message of this music video is to live in the moment because you never know what will happen. You never know what you have until you lose it so don't take the people that you love for granted. 


Consideration of cultural context: Artists usually write songs when they are inspired, or need to express their feelings. I think that Alicia Keys probably went through a similar situation, therefore making her want to send a message out to people. She probably took someone for granted, and didn't realize it until she had almost lost that person.


Expression of Aesthetic Judgement: I think that this whole music video is amazing. The lyrics, the music and the cinematography all coincide to send the same message and reach out to the audience. The music and lyrics are very heavy and emotional, and the visuals help bring the story together to make the message stronger. When you listen and view everything together, it really makes you listen to what this artist is trying to say.


Ongoing Reflection: This music video really made me pay attention to the story that it is telling and it really made me want to listen. It sent out a great message that really inspired me. Sometimes, we get so caught up in life, that we forget about the people  we love. We can take so many things for granted and sometimes it takes a lot for us to realize it. You just have to remember that you never know what you have until it's gone, so be thankful and don't take anyone for granted.

Social networking sites play a very important part in our daily teenage lives. Our generation has had technology surrounding us as we were growing up, therefore making us very involved with the internet world. Facebook is one of the most popular social networking sites and it would be very rare to find someone that does not have an account. As our society develops, technology advances and the internet becomes more and more dangerous.

Privacy is a very important issue when it comes to social networking sites because you never know what is out there. Many people hide behind their computer screens since the internet gives them the advantage of masking their real identity. Since young people are so involved with the internet, we are taught to be very careful with what we post and to make sure we protect our privacy. Technology is so advanced nowadays, and there are many ways people can get information about you through social networking sites.

You should be extremely careful with what you say on the internet, because exploiting information about your personal life can be very dangerous. In order to stay safe, you should make sure that you know exactly who you're sharing information with. Millions of people have facebook accounts and you should always make sure you share things only with people that you know very well. Even though facebook allows certain things to be shared with certain people, you still have to be extremely careful because you never know who is out there. Never post personal information such as your address, age, birthday, school or phone number. There are many predators out there and when you have that information available, they can hurt you in the near future.  

Always remember that the internet can be extremely dangerous.
